MISSION: The mission of Purl’s Scouts is to
build and strengthen knitting skills while having
fun and building community with other stitchers.

Like in other scouting programs, Purl’s Scouts earn badges (or buttons) by moving through different levels and accomplishing challenges in order to move to the next level. These can be fulfilled in various ways (i.e. by taking a class, by completing an independent project, by fulfilling a skill challenge, etc.). 

Registration Fee & Program Privileges/Benefits: There is a one-time registration fee of $40 for Purl’s Scouts.

This amount covers:

1. •the Purl’s Scouts folder with program overview
   

2. •a Purl’s cloth bag
   

3. •all buttons (badges) received throughout the
   program
   

4. •all Sock Monkey level classes (which will be
   $10 each to non Purl’s Scouts)
   

5. •a 50% discount on beyond Sock Monkey level
   Scout-related classes and workshops (with the
   exception of Beginning Knitting and
   Intermediate Knitting classes and some
   special classes taught by visiting instructors)
   

6. •being privy to a sale price the day before a
   Sale of the Week item(s) is put on sale and some other special sale days
   

Regardless of skill level, all Scouts start at the first level, Sock Monkey Level.  Each level includes a “Just for Fun” badge and a “Craftivism” badge which must be fulfilled in order to move on to the next level. These are meant to remind Scouts to have fun and make connections with others while pursuing their individual stitching goals. There are also other special badges Scouts can pursue if they want to, but which are not required in order to move up within a level or beyond a level.
